Who We Are

A Confessional Lutheran Church

Founded in 1927 as a daughter congregation of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Netawaka, Kansas, we are a Confessional member congregation of The Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod.  We proudly identify ourselves with the doctrine, practice and rich liturgical tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church named for the great 16th Century German Reformer, Martin Luther.  It's an identity and heritage we are eager to share with everyone in our community and beyond.

What does it mean to be a "Confessional" Lutheran church?

  Briefly stated, it means the following:

  • that we boldly confess with the Christian Church of all ages the Faith articulated in the three ecumenical creeds: The Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian;
  • that we pledge ourselves without reservation to the Lutheran Confessions (published in the year 1580 as The Book of Concord) as the correct explanation of the Christian faith as it is found in Holy Scripture; and most importantly,
  • that we seek to proclaim nothing other than Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the salvation of the world.
